Shedding is a very common problem associated with wool rugs. Let's take a look at some ways by which this unwanted shedding can be minimized.
Bamboo, the fastest growing plant in the world, is highly sustainable, and has numerous uses, and one of them is making rugs or mats out of it. Bamboo rugs, or mats, add a dash of style and an aesthetic sense to any room. They give an Oriental flair to your house and look equally good on all types of flooring, be it hardwood, marble, or tile. They come in assorted sizes and designs. Not only are they durable, they are the perfect choice for those rooms which are prone to heavy foot traffic. Used for centuries in Asian countries, rugs made from bamboo are now fast becoming a trend in the United States.
You can make a lantern with a bamboo mat. This is again for a balcony or a garden/terrace; an area where it is normally dark. Use the lantern by placing a candle or fit in a yellow bulb and enjoy the meshed effect. It looks absolutely pleasant!
Solid stains on wool rugs left behind by foodstuff, ink, paint, etc., are quite common, particularly if you have small children in your home. First, scrape out the solid residues with the help of a spoon. Then prepare a homemade cleaning solution by mixing up one-fourth cup of pure white vinegar and one teaspoon of mild liquid dishwashing soap in two cups of tepid water. Apply this solution for stain removal using a sponge, but do not try to scrub the rug. Take another clean sponge to apply water on the spot to wash off the solution. Finally, it should be dried completely by soaking up all the water with dry paper towels.
