However, after nylon, olefin or polypropylene fiber is gaining popularity. It accounts for 16% of all the fibers that are manufactured and about 30% of the fibers used in the United States for making carpets. The fiber was first made for outdoor use and has been a popular choice for commercial applications since then. It is a synthetic fiber made of propylene, that is a byproduct of petroleum.
If you have a vibrant, outgoing personality and have decorated your house accordingly, then dark brown or deep chocolate-brown rugs will suit better. For a more sober decor, opt for lighter shades of brown, typically in beige or other earthy colors. They will give your home more of a country feel as opposed to an urban look. Rectangular rugs give a more sophisticated, modern look, and circular rugs offer a more earthy feel. These rugs can also be dyed in different colors, so you can even add a splash of color to your room!
