Take three strips and sew their ends together and start braiding them. The length of the strips should vary because the places where the new strip is added will be different avoiding the lump of strips. When you are adding a new strip, open the end of it and also of the previous strip and sew them together and start braiding again. Continue braiding until you finish the whole fabric. While braiding, keep rolling the strips into a ball. If you want to stop in the middle and do some other work, pin the braid with a large binder clip.
It provides a wide range of textures and patterns, and so is predominantly used. The cut-loop style is very much in trend. This style is also sometimes referred to as a patterned carpet. A broad range of patterns can be introduced, such as fun geometrical designs or some floral work. Multiple colors and textures do a commendable job of hiding marks and standing up to traffic.
Smoothen the surface of the steps and vacuum it. In case of wooden ones, see that there are no nails sticking out. Whereas, in case of cement staircases, see that the cracks and corners are properly filled. Also, if you are replacing your old carpet, it is not advisable to reuse the old carpet pads or tack strips.
Place the tack strips on the angle between the tread and riser. Use the hammer to fix them. Another way is to place the tack strips on both sides of the tread, adjacent to the walls.
